I recommend “The Gruffalo’s Child” by Julia Donaldson to Junior Infants because it is fun and enjoyable and is suitable for this age-group. It is about a monster-The Gruffalo, and his child, both are afraid of a mouse! A great book overall. Lennon

“The Story Of A Bear” by Hilary Mc kay is a lovely book, just made for 5-8 year olds. A bear learns about the world while making new friends ,Ellie and a seagull. With three short stories and beautifully coloured pictures, I would just love to read it! Lana.

“Dirty Bertie” is a bit like “Horrid Henry”,only better! The book has 3 short stories, all connected in some way. In this story, Bertie is unknown-2going to see a horror film with his grandmother. Written by Alan Mac Donald, it is a funny book. If you struggle with reading, you might enjoy it as the words are written in print that’s a little bigger than usual. I love this book! Molly

“Stella Luna” by Janell Cannon. I think this book is suitable for 8 year olds. It shows the reader how to survive in a world woithout a mother. We all need a mother and to live in reality. This book shows how friendship works and teaches us how to adapt to new things. Saskia

“Shadow of the Dinosaurs” by Dennis Nolan. I recommend this book because not only is it a good book, but you also learn about about the past-dinosaurs!It is an exciting and amazing book to read! Saskia.

Older readers

“My Brother is a SuperHero” I would recommend this book to 10-12 year-olds because it seems like it is full of adventure and seems unknown-3funny too! David Solomons, the Author, seems like a great storyteller. I would recommend this as a great book to read inside on a rainy day. Page.

“Witch world” by Emma Fischel I would recommend this book because it’s about good witches fighting monsters that they fear. It is humourous and adventurous. Flo goes through a terrifying adventure with her so-called crazy granny. I’ve read this book before and it’s an amazing book to read; as you read, you are curious to know what’s going to happen next ? A great book that can fill your imagination! Saskia

“Diamond “ by Jaqueline Wilson. This is a well-written piece of fiction. I would recommend it to 10-12 year-olds for the words and descriptions used. It is great for fluent readers and indeed for struggling readers, as it would be difficult but not too hard. I enjoyed reading this book as I had both a laugh and a weep! Read a chapter a night and you’ll be finished in a flash! Lana
