Scoil Mhuire began in Shanganagh Park House in 1976 and the school building was built in 1977, so the forty years celebrations are straddling this academic year, 2016/17 In 2016, we celebrated with the launch of our new web site, www.primaryschoolshankill.ie, the unveiling of our Banner and the planting of a Grove of Oak Trees, which mark the past, the present and the future of the school.

Now in 2017 we hope to engage the support and co-operation of the entire community! As the theme of our celebrations is growing from the past, to the present, towards the future, we intend to hold a Photographic Exhibition, which will be open to the public, showing the development of the school from its foundation to the present day. For this reason, we are looking to borrow photographs which show different aspects of the school life from past to present. If you have photographs which you think might be of interest please bring them to the school office on any weekday between 9am and 2pm where they will be placed in individual, named envelopes. All photographs lent will be looked after carefully and returned.
